Niagara Remains Unbeaten in Fall 2012

The Niagara Purple Eagles (10-0-1) defeated the Wheatfield Blades on their last game of the Fall hockey season 6-4 on Saturday night at the Dwyer Arena. The Niagara Purple Eagles’ sophomore, Ashley Beebe, started the tempo by skating end to end down the left side and scored her first goal of the season past Wheatfield’s goalie. Followed by, senior Natasha Fryer, scored the second goal assisted by both senior Erika Wenzke and Emma Hassen. Niagara’s senior Lauren Fontaine, ended the first period with a goal assisted by senior Jessica Schug leading the Eagles 3-1. The second period showed intensity from both sides, but a on a great individual effort, Lauren Fontaine, scored two goals assisted again by Jessica Schug and freshman Olivia Accarso leading the Purple Eagles 5-2. In the third period, Lauren Fontaine scored her fourth goal of the game unassisted to end the last game of the Fall hockey season. Niagara’s senior goalie, Danene Stevens, played a phenomenal game; only letting 4 goals past her while Niagara scored 6 goals.
